Abstract

Untuk mencapai matlamat sebuah organisasi yang berdaya saing dan menyumbang kepada peningkatan ekonomi negara, komitmen pekerja merupakan aspek penting dalam tujuan tersebut. Institusi Perbankan Islam merupakan salah sebuah organisasi yang menyumbang kepada perkembangan ekonomi di Malaysia. Namun terdapat keadaan di mana pekerja di Institusi Perbankan Islam cenderung berasa tertekan dan membawa kepada peningkatan kadar pusing ganti pekerja (turnover employee) sekaligus tidak dapat memberikan komitmen kerja dengan baik. Disebabkan hal ini, organisasi gagal mencapai matlamat yang telah digariskan oleh pengurusan tertinggi.  Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji faktor yang mempengaruhi komitmen bekerja di Institusi Perbankan Islam. Terdapat dua faktor yang ingin dikaji iaitu faktor sikap pekerja dan persekitaran organisasi. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif dan data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 22. Data dikumpul melalui pendekatan tinjauan yang menggunakan borang soal selidik yang diedarkan secara rawak kepada 220 orang pekerja di sebuah Institusi Perbankan Islam di Kuala Lumpur. Namun, hanya 150 borang soal selidik sahaja yang telah dikembalikan kepada penyelidik. Hasil kajian mendapati faktor sikap pekerja dan persekitaran organisasi mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan komitmen bekerja. Secara kesimpulan, dapatan ini boleh digunakan oleh Institusi Perbankan Islam untuk merangka strategi bagi menangani masalah pekerja yang kurang memberi komitmen semasa bekerja. Pengkaji turut menyediakan saranan untuk melaksanakan kajian yang melibatkan populasi yang lebih besar bagi mendapatkan hasil kajian yang lebih menyeluruh.

 

To achieve the goals of a competitive organization and contribute to the nation's economic growth, employee commitment is an important aspect of that objective. The Islamic Banking Institution is one of the organizations that contributes to the economic development in Malaysia. However, there are situations where employees at Islamic Banking Institution tend to feel stressed and lead to an increase in turnover of employees besides being unable to deliver on their work commitment appropriately. Due to this, the organization failed to accomplish the goals set by the upper management. Therefore, this study was conducted to study the factors that influence working commitment in Islamic Banking Institution. There are two factors to be studied, namely employee attitude and organizational environment. This study uses quantitative method and the data obtained is analyzed using software namely Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22. The data was collected through questionnaire form that circulated randomly to 220 workers at an Islamic Banking Institution in Kuala Lumpur. However, only 150 questionnaires were returned to researchers. The results found that the attitude factors of employees and the environment of the organization have a significant relationship with the working commitment. In conclusion, these results can be used by Islamic Banking Institution to articulate strategies to address the problems of employees who are less committed at work. The study also provides recommendations for the implementation of studies involving larger populations in order to obtain more comprehensive research results.
